File format

JPEG - jpeg stands for ‘ Joint photographic experts group ‘ digital cameras compress raw photographs as jpeg images to make the files smaller in size, it is the most common file format for photo storage


TIFF - tiff stands for ‘ Tag image file format ‘ tiff files do not compress to make for smaller files, because they are meant to preserve quality. They are higher quality images.


PSD - psd stands for ‘ Photoshop document files ‘ and they are mostly used in adobe photoshop, they usually contain just the image but they also contain any layers or edits done within the file.


RAW - a raw file is a file that has not been compressed, encrypted or processed, they are usually large in size as it is the rawest file of the image.
