John Gossage - 30 Artworks, Bio & Shows on Artsy

John Gossage was born in 1946 and is an American photographer, he is well known for his artist books and his other publications, within his images they explore urban environments such as abandoned tracts of land, debris and rubbish and graffiti and he likes to explore the relationship and the power between architecture and power.Gossage is known as a photographer, book designer, publisher and a project manager.

I really like one of his projects called 'the pond' as I think that it really relates to my project and I think that it juxtaposes and adds irony as it compares the ugliness and the beauty of the man-made. when creating this he knew that the Americans would be the main audience so they could see the damage being done. I think that his work relates well to mine as I have taken pictures of walkways and in a few of his images he has done the same, making them monochrome. I think that the long winded paths make them quite distorted and I like this.
